Modular Lighting Instruments
Positively opinionated. Don’t believe in blending in. Always leading the discussion. Modular Lighting Instruments has been making high quality architectural lighting with attitude since 1980.
Architectural lighting is about finding the right balance. Between the aesthetic appeal of a space and the function and quality of the light. In other words, creating architectural beauty but also making sure that it serves our needs.
Apart from the architectural space itself, the luminaire choices of the architect or interior designer depend on many other factors. Like the concept or purpose of the space, and the creative mind of the designer. Every designer you ask will come up with a different lighting solution for the same space.
We believe that lighting should be empowering. That’s why our light fixtures help designers to create new options and original configurations. The modular lighting idea is that one light fixture isn’t just one light fixture. One single product design serves multiple purposes. Breaking set ideas about which lights and where.
What sets Modular Lighting Instruments apart? It’s about finding the perfect balance between innovative design, expanding applications, and using the latest technology.
When we talk about design, we don’t just mean the overall product design. We are obsessed by detail. It’s the things you might not notice that are most important to us. We never stop thinking about how we can make a product better. Using magnetic plates to hide wires and screws. Anodization for a smoother colour execution on aluminium. Powder finishing for structured colours. It's the small things that make all the difference.
The modular approach to function, shape, colours and finishes offers the designer inspiring and unlimited options. We are continuously extending product families and finding new applications.
We always think ahead, especially in terms of technology. We offer only highly efficient LED lighting units. As well as a standard CRI 90 for all colour temperatures. Which is not standard at all. For customer convenience: different colour temperatures are available for all products. In other words, it’s not something you have to request.
It’s because we care about providing superior quality that we design and make products in-house. That’s why we make our own reflectors. We can use aluminium rather than the plastic that many other companies use. Doing it our-self guarantees greater flexibility and the ability to customize all our designs.
